“I am, but I’ll be the villain for you. Not to you.”

Add Slade to my list of unrealistic requirements for a man because If someone like him came up to me and said that, I am already preparing my wedding.

  • What I like:
Surprisingly, I liked the tension between Auren and Slade and I wanted more of it. Unlike other books I have read where the two main characters come together within a single book, I like how in this book they took their time and created a friendship first. But when they did come together… It was worth the wait.
The second thing I like in this book, that the other books did as well, was show how a toxic and abusive relationship affects one someone physically, emotionally and most importantly mentally. I liked how we see Auren open her eyes to see Midas for what he is.
Lastly, the last 100 pages made me scream for the ending… WHICH WAS CRAZY AND UNFAIR BECAUSE NOW I HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE NEXT BOOK TO COME OUT IN MAY!!!!

  • What I did not like:
The middle of the book was so repetitive and somewhat uneventful that it slipped my mind entirely. But there were a few important details and things that stand out that help drive the plot.
