There aren't many LGBTQ+ romance stories set in a post-apocalyptic world, and this debut novel is everything this genre should be.
The slow-burn romance between Andrew and Jamie is beautifully crafted, and I loved watching their relationship evolve amidst the chaos of a world where a pandemic has wiped out most of humanity. The characters were authentic and loveable, and I was rooting for them every step along the way. The pacing was a good mix between action and emotional moments, although it sometimes felt like the two boys got rushed from one bad situation to the next without much of a breather to let the events settle - for them and the reader.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book, and wish for more post-apocalyptic romance with LGBTQ+ representation!
