Captured Heart by Heather McCollum
4.0
Rating: 4 Stars
“He’d married Meg to end a feud, but staying married to her could start a war.”
➸ FMC: ★★★★½
Brave, compassionate, competent, intelligent, skilled with a bow, and has a pet wolf—what’s not to love?My only complaint is how she got captured in the end of the book, acting like she was a lead character in a horror movie.
➸ MMC: ★★★¾
Caden doesn’t use physical violence to intimidate Meg (which is definitely setting the bar low, but I appreciated it nonetheless). He was a strong leader, acting with honor, willing to humble himself for the good of his people.
➸ Antagonist(s): ★★★
Predictable, but enjoyable.
➸ Supporting Characters: ★★★★★
I want to simultaneously praise and thank the author for creating a solid cast of secondary characters who act as more than props.
➸ Healer Element: ★★★★¾
I love that the author didn’t strictly use either magic healing or herbal healing, but rather a satisfying balance of both. I also appreciated how consistent and relevant a part it played throughout the entire story.
