I Believe in a Thing Called Love
by Maurene Goo
2 Stars
The romance was super cringe. I kept asking myself why these two people even liked each other, and tbh, never found a convincing reason. Not great for a contemporary romance.
Pros:
*KDramas. I've only seen one, but I did really like it so the reference guide at the back is nice.
*Desi and her dad. They were great
Cons:
*Oooh boy. Where do I start?
*This is minor in the face of everything else, but where did Desi even find the time to have these misadventures? Not to draw on my own experiences, but I was also top of my class, valedictorian, running two clubs and a part of a half a dozen more, and while not doing a sport, in theatre, which is similarly time consuming. With all that plus homework, I didn't have time for a regular boyfriend, let alone crazy kdrama steps to get one
*The absolute insanity of some of the kdrama steps.
*I still can't figure out the draw these two have to each other on any level except physical
*Instalove
*Also, I didn't really like Luca as a character at all. He was alright towards the beginning, but all the 'drama' with his dad?
*
*She jeopardized her future for a guy? Not great. Really the only time I'm okay with that is if they are soulmates and a future together is worth sacrificing her original plans because it's actually something better, but that's not the case here
Originally started for booktubeathon but my goodness this took me over a month to read. thanks.

She put his life in danger three times and he still takes her back? WTF??*I still can't figure out the draw these two have to each other on any level except physical

Who, by the way, was completely right. He just comes off as an entitled brat. Take it from someone who actually has a terrible father, his dad was fine.*
Spoiler
I cannot BELIEVE how easily he forgave her at the end*She jeopardized her future for a guy? Not great. Really the only time I'm okay with that is if they are soulmates and a future together is worth sacrificing her original plans because it's actually something better, but that's not the case here
