I really enjoy Samantha Whiskey’s writing. Her books always have a couple that’s meant to be together, a little sport, and a little spice. I was first introduced to Nixon’s character through his brother, who plays for the Carolina Reapers(hockey romance). I’m usually not a fan of the surprise pregnancy trope but I have to admit, I did enjoy Nixon-even if I did find Liberty infuriating at times.
Nixon is your typical golden boy quarterback and Liberty is a nomadic graduate student. She grew up all over the world with her mother doing missionary work. The only time she stayed in one place for more than 6 months was while she was attending school. That being said, Liberty is a big Raleigh Raptor fan. More so, she’s a Nixon fan. Her roommates win a charity auction for a date with Nixon. That date turns into Nixon and Liberty in Vegas. And what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas, right? Not when it’s a baby.
