DNF. This book was always near the top of the recommendations when anyone requested a good vampire book on the r/horrolit subreddit, so I decided to give it a try. I just don't have the time or patience for long-winded 80's horror like this. It suffered from OWMS (Old White Man Syndrome) like in Carrion Comfort by Dan Simmons. No, I don't need every detail about the virility of the two male MCs. No, I don't need your flat, poorly written, barely present female characters. I just want evil vampires doing evil things, but apparently 8 hours and 45% of the way through the audiobook, even that was too much to ask. I did enjoy the way The Thing in the Ground said Boris's name. Drago-ZAHHHH-NEEE. LOL The narrator was good with the accents.
