Lost Light by Michael Connelly

5.0

This book is a fabulous entry into the Bosch saga. I really was able to sink into the details of the story/character. He’s a character it took me awhile to warm up to, however I really think he’s worth it. The action starts off slow paced, but it sure does have moments of great set pieces.
‘His skull made a sound like a water balloon breaking and the iron beam hummed like a tuning fork. He dropped to the ground like a bag of wet laundry.’
When I read that last part about the laundry literally laughed out loud! The action picks up considerably near the end of the book and this snippet is taken from there. It was quite unexpected but welcomed.
It is also nice to get background about Bosch’s wife and a glance into their relationship.
Well worth 5 stars !
