The Wife Upstairs by Rachel Hawkins

5.0

This is a great thriller/mystery story. It is a book that will make you feel all the emotions. Not usually my genre, but I was pulled in deep right from the beginning. The backstory is excellently written; no stone left unturned. I like that the female protagonist was relatable, too. She seemed real and spoke like normal, everyday people do. The author helped us to feel like we were inside her head. You could see the gears turning. I rate this an 8/10. That’s high on my rating scale! I only do this because I started to get bored about 3/4 way through the story. It seemed to lull for a moment and there were some parts that seem very predictable, especially when a plot twist was nearing the bend. Overall, a very satisfying and enjoyable read!
