Red Dirt Heart 3 by N.R. Walker
4.0
Lots of goings on at the Sutton station, good and bad. First, there’s an opportunity of a big grocery chain wanting their beef. Then, Trudy reveals she’s pregnant, but isn’t sure about keeping the baby. Ma finds out she has endometrial cancer, which shocks and worries everyone.
Last, but not least, Travis’ grandfather is dying, so he has to go home. Oh, and Charlie’s trying to finish his last assignments for his degree, while running for the board of the local beef association. Add in some unexpected events, and poor Charlie is a mess.
He does all right, though, getting his board position, watching over Ma as she recovers, and handling the rest just fine. All of it except Travis. Missing him, and then getting their wires crossed, makes Charlie doubt Travis is coming back.
Of course, a happy ending for all abounds, with everyone is healthy and happy. I love the characters, the scenery, and in this instalment, all the balls in the air that actually do come together.
