If you’re looking for a book with a strong atmosphere that’s a blend between spooky and enchanting, this is the book for you.
It has a really distinct world compared to most settings I read about that I really enjoyed. I think pulling from Polish folklore really helped lend to that feeling of individuality. From the jump I had a very clear view of the world and setting and how that might impact the characters.
Speaking of the characters, each one and their dynamics were very well written. It wasn’t exclusive to Liska and The Leszy either, but everyone that came to live in the house. They all had solid personalities that fed into their dynamics in a unique way. Liska especially was an excellent protagonist. She had a strong mystery around her from the start and a motivation I personally an very fond of for MCs with powers.
While I can’t remember why I didn’t rate it five stars at the time of writing this review, I’m sure I had a good reason. Overall it was a really fun book with a very cute romance. I can’t wait to read more from this author.
