2000ace 's review for:
A Breath of Snow and Ashes
by Diana Gabaldon
In the other five books in this series, the author's attention to historical detail has been impressive. In this book, Gabaldon leaves the romance genre behind, and writes a masterfully researched piece of historical fiction. Politics are at the crux of this story: a new nation is the pangs of coming together, while Jamie must decide whether he will remain a loyalist or fight with the revolutionaries. This is just as good a read as all of her other books, but there is something special in this one. The story just gets bigger and better with each successive volume.
