This book was a DELIGHT. Multiple times I burst out laughing or wanted to hug one character or the other or felt as if Cathy Yardley had been peering into my life as the single mom of a son.
Role Playing made me realize that there are several things that, for me, push a good book over the edge into the 'Loved it' category. These include:
1) Women characters who speak blunt truths, manners be damned;
2) Friends/lovers fiercely standing up for each other;
3) Nasty characters being FINALLY told off;
and 4) Main characters who surprise the secondary characters who had misjudged them.
Role Playing has all this and more. If you want to read a contemporary romance with fully adult characters who will make you laugh and swoon and cheer, this is the book for you.
