The Spirit Bares Its Teeth by Andrew Joseph White

4.75

Absolutely love this author's storytelling and how he combines so many genres into one story. I typically don't read historical fiction or fantasy, but with the added horror elements it made for a fantastic story.

This book was gruesome, heavy, full of heartbreak, and infuriating. However, it was also full of hope for the future and filled with brave characters who you come to love.

My only complaints for this book is that it seemed to drag a little for me in certain parts. I think the book could have been 30-50 pages shorter and had the same message/impact/been just as great.

AJW is nothing short of incredible and I can't wait for his 3rd book to be released this fall!
