This book took me by surprise. I remember picking it because it sounded interesting but I honestly didn't know anything about it or the author. When I first started it I was thrown into a world I knew nothing about. It took a few chapters for me to get the lay of the land and start to grasp who our main characters were. Once I got about 20 percent in though...I was hooked! The writing was very easy to follow and the story was fairly fast paced. It was action packed and fully of humor, magic, and hijinks.

Kinch is such a fun character on his own but when you add in the rest of crew (Norrigal, Galva, and even Bully Boy) the journey becomes much more entertaining. I often found myself laughing at the hijinks and/or misfortunes that this wonderful band of misfits fell prey to (or in some cases started). After this journey, I now find myself eager to learn what the Takers Guild is really up to. I can easily see myself spending more time in this world with these characters I have come to really enjoy.
