This is one of my favourite Jacqueline Wilson books ever. (Aside from ‘Lola Rose.’ And ‘The Illustrated Mum.’) I originally read it upon its release, but reread it recently. What an important and timely read this is! I found the story so moving, and loved how sensitively Wilson dealt with the subject.  I loved seeing how Laura transformed into being reluctant to continue with the pregnancy, to becoming a loving parent to Kathy. The characterisations were spot on, and the story is very well paced.

If you ever want to read a Jacqueline Wilson book, please do make it this!
