The Enchantment Emporium by Tanya Huff

5.0

Reminiscent of Elgin's Ozark Fantasy books, The Enchantment Emporium presents us with the Gale family known for it's magical powers and overbearing "aunties." Allie Gale has inherited her grandmother's junk shop in Calgary and soon finds that there are things happening there, things that are building to a very dangerous climax.

With a cast of intriguing and distinctive friends, The Enchantment Emporium, lets us explore this new urban fantasy world through Allie's eyes and it's a world I want to visit again and again. This is quite a different take from Huff's other popular urban fantasy novel as there's not a single vampire to be seen (at least not yet) but it's populated by leprechauns, witches, dragons and other miscellaneous magical creatures.

I can't recommend this book highly enough, for me this was almost impossible to put down and led to one of those nights where I was up way past the time I should be because I was "almost finished."
