Coming into a classic, modern or otherwise (or most books, honestly), I generally don't want to search them up beyond their summaries because I've made it this far and I don't want the entire gist of the book to be spoiled. With me so far?
I had no idea that so much of the main plot would be CSA... related? Adjacent? Whatever the term, I didn't realize coming in that the main character's growth would be so dependent upon the CSA of those around him. It wasn't graphic, and the story itself (outside of that) was written well, with great descriptive language. But the entire thing left me feeling nauseated.
