Dark Places by Gillian Flynn
3.0

My first Gillain Flynn book. My expectations were fairly high, considering I'd seen constant recommendations and a person recommendation from a friend. I went into this without much context, I'd briefly read the blurb but that was about it.

I have to say, what a journey. I'm not particularly in love.with the story but I do appreciate the author's writing. I especially loved seeing how the same object or situation could be interpreted so differently based.on the POV. There's two particular objects that really showcase this near the end. I also found it quite interesting that practically every single character had very deep flaws and not a single one was 'fixed". We're just given it how it is, a horrible situation with nothing but suffering.

Overall, I give the story and my enjoyment of that a 3 but I bump it up to a 4 because I appreciate how the story was told.
