Disgustingly and irredeemably racist and xenophobic... Also, sick of the repeated comments about Claire's pale white skin and thin figure (despite her age!!) while Gabaldon's villain got FAT and EVIL. Author made many unnecessary and questionable choices with characters in this book that simply need not have happened, regardless of historical attitudes towards Chinese and black folks. Gabaldon also seems weirdly preoccupied with sexual violence? I am a serial completionist and still dropped the rest of both the book and television series after reading this installment 😵💫
