This is a really accessible and entertaining academic book, that has a lot of good insights into theater production. I think that this is a must-read for anyone involved in the theatre world, whether as a practitioner or a scholar, or anywhere in between. However, like a lot of academic books, it starts to feel a little repetitive in its analysis, and a bit bogged down in its examples. Towards the end, I found myself skimming more to find the newer ideas, as the repetition of "failure" became, ironically, a bit boring.
