Started a bit slow and seemed to go backward in character development from book 1. But the last 1/3 of the book really picked up and Talin became the badass she was once again. Red is absolutely one of the best make MC written into a sci-fi dystopian. His character was ever evolving and growing. The side character Armani, Adena, Jarin are all absolutely stunning and add so much depth and strength to the story. 
Overall I loved this book. Especially the addition to searching for artifacts that turn out to be weapons and totally lean toward being nuclear energy cylinders and hints at radiation poisoning from the past peoples.
