Forgive, but never forget

Keisha is devastated after finding out her fiancé has cheated on her due to her choosing to abstain from sex until after they are married. Keisha has so many unresolved issues with all of the men in her life - from her ex-fiancé, to her ex-boyfriend, who used to abuse her, to her father, who seemingly abandoned her after her parents were divorced.

Keisha’s story was relatable and honest. Going through the heartbreak of infidelity and another failed relationship really broke this character down, as I have seen it break down plenty of women.

This story has a lot of internal dialogue and feelings that I wish would have translated to more interactions with the ex-fiancé, Mike. While we learned of the bad his character had done, we rarely got to see the good he had done. I wanted to know more about Mike and if he’d earned the benefit of the doubt he wanted throughout the story. There were a few flashback scenes that aided in the plot, but the transition and placement of them took me a minute to adjust to within the story.

Overall, another inspiring and inspiration story from Stewart. I’m looking forward to reading the final installment of this series to see how these three friends’ story ends!

I would recommend this book to fans of Christian Fiction, such as authors like Kimberla Lawson Roby and Victoria Christopher Murray.
