The Wonder Engine by T. Kingfisher

4.0

I appreciate so many things about this duology. Kingfisher has a thing for broken paladins, and I don't mind.

It's a good story, it runs alongside classic tropes and applies them differently. I don't want to spoil things....so I guess all I will say is that despite being a story about unstoppable murder engines and the twisted or broken people who go to deal with it, it is surprisingly light and humorous while still carrying the weight of meaning and cost.

And it isn't even the best thing that she has written.
