Overall, I definitely enjoyed this book! The tension between Kai and Paedyn was amazing and I really enjoyed the way their relationship grew over time and the interactions they had with each other. Y’all know I love a good slow burn. 😉 Kai quickly became a new favorite MMC for me! However, I found myself a little disappointed with the trials. I thought they could have played a bigger role in the book. I was a bit sad to see that they happened pretty quickly. The end of the last trial broke my heart though! As did the last interaction between Kai and Paedyn!! I’m definitely a little worried to start the next book because I just know it’s going to be tense, but most likely not in a good way 😅
