I found it reasonably satisfying, but not as exciting as the previous books. For me, the pacing was a little off, because the book was moving very slowly in the first half (a bit more than half) and the ending felt rushed.
I hated how Allie procrastinated breaking up with Sylvain, that was just unnecessarily cruel and made her look pretty selfish, or at least like an emotional coward. Makes me wonder how a person turns out when they're under this much stress and suddenly rich and important at 17.
Overall there was unfortunately barely any personal or relationship plot, it felt entirely focussed on Nathaniel, freeing Carter and Lucindas legacy.
I actually loved Allies initial reaction to heiring all of Lucindas wealth, so much responsibility, what a nightmare! I could imagine that a lot of people would react that way.

So overall, I'm happy with how things ended, even if this wasn't my favorite part of the series. It was probably a good point to end without it dragging on for too long.
