The Adventures of Amina Al-Sirafi by S.A. Chakraborty

5.0

This was a great read! I was interested and excited to keep reading the whole time. I loved the MC, Amina. I really appreciated her characterization. A lot of adult fantasy books with women MCs always have the characters as 20 year olds who are still figuring everything out. Amina’s maturity, rationality, and even her occasional grumpiness was super fun to read about. I also loved her dedication to her daughter, the rest of her family, and friends. The world was so interesting and immersive. I really hope we get more books about Amina tracking down magical artifacts, hopefully with Marjana at her side. I also really loved the villain. I understand why so many books have sort of gray villains or murky good and bad guys, but it was fun to have one single really bad guy to root against.
