The fact that this is a true story, fascinating. But these guys are incredibly naive and make so many bad decisions that it's amazing anyone survived to write about it. I could forgive that though if the writing style was at least somewhat captivating. I actually found myself skimming pages at a time in what should have been the most exciting part because it was repetitive and monotonous. I also really hated the inclusion of these long, drawn-out fantasies Yossi had as he was wandering around the jungle. I can see how they give insight into Yossi's life and dreams outside of being a backpacker, but frankly I didn't really like him very much by that point and had no interest in getting to know him better.

A disappointed 2 stars for this one.
