I absolutely love reading memoirs! They are, to me, one of the most interesting types of creative writing! And Maya Angelo’s memoir has become one of my absolute favorites.
I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings tells the heartbreaking truths of Maya Angelou’s childhood and how she escaped through the world of literature.
The book is powerful, funny, heartbreaking and full of life through the beautiful writing style of Maya. It’s a hard read, but it’s well worth it.
