Now I have always liked Hesses poems, but his literature is truly a work of art. I would definitely reccomend, this beautiful book, especially to adolescents. It can teach us how to embrace our ,,shadow side” as Carl Jung quoted. While, this piece can serve in the psychology section, it truely is about a boy developing a beautiful bond, friendship with another one, and the death of demian, as well as the outbreak of world war 1 truly caught me by surprise:(. It is such a beautiful book, and Hesse really has a way of drawing the reader in. It could be seen as a work influenced and strongly inspired by Nietzsches.
