I have lots of reflective thoughts on this book.
First off, if you are reading in the UK- You apparently also need to read Good Wives. In the USA, it is all sold under the title “Little Women.” If you are in the UK and have seen the recent movie adaptation and think “ooooh, i’ll read this”, you are not in for the same story. I promise you, you do not know how this ends.
Secondly, if I see anymore complaints about how this book is preachy, bestie it was published in 1868. The whole idea of the book was aimed at young women to show them how to be proper, religious young women and daughters.
The rating is only this low as I found some sisters *cough* Meg *cough* somewhat insufferable and not enough weight in this book for me. But again, I am not the intended audience of LMA.
P.S I love Laurie
