The Girls of Mulberry Lane
by Rosie Clarke
Pretty standard British WWII Chick Lit, with put-upon ladies from working-class London making their plucky ways through the world - a world On The Verge Of War! At least in the beginning, the characters are a little more well-rounded than most (by which I mean not ALL the men are insensitive jerks) but unfortunately this seems to be in the process of remedying itself by the end. This is very much Part 1 - I wouldn't say it ends on an actual cliffhanger, but basically everything is To Be Continued. Fine, but I probably won't be reading further.
