Light in Gaza: Writings Born of Fire by Jehad Abusalim, Jennifer Bing, Mike Merryman-Lotze

challenging dark emotional informative reflective sad tense medium-paced

4.5

Reading essays, stories, and poetry from Palestinian authors was a powerful experience. Each piece of writing gives a different  perspective on what it's like to live in Palestine, from a historical POV to more personal stories.

The genocide of Palestinian people might be news to a lot of people but for Palestinians it has been going on for decades. It was heartbreaking to read of the dreams that are currently being broken as I type this reflection. We have to keep learning and talking about Palestine as well as advocating for them as best as we can.

Highly recommend this collection, it should be required reading for everyone!
