Orientalism by Edward W. Said

This is one of the heaviest books I have read, I purchased it a little over 2 years ago and I just finished it. And it's one of the books I plan on rereading someday.

This book is Edward Said's response to so-called western scholars on the orient. Dr Said shows the inadequacy and the failure of both the ideas and the research of the Orientalist scholar. He showed us why their arguments are invalid in contrast to them telling us to believe them as they are an "authority" on the matter.

I found some dark humour in the fact that despite the age of the book the west still holds many of the same backwards and racist view of those who are not them.
