Saga, Vol. 1 by Brian K. Vaughan

4.0

This series has a lot of hype around it, so I cautiously bought the first volume to give it a try. I enjoy the art, the art is beautiful, and so far so are the characters, very well defined each and every one of them. For some reason I had envisioned this was would a simple fantasy love story, but this get's down to the knitty gritty pretty quickly and I appreciated that. The story line was interesting enough that I'm definitely going to be getting the next volume. The reason for only four stars is that I felt like there were almost too many view points going on with how complex the story line is, it took me a little bit to straighten everything out, as it also didn't help that there complex characters in both physical design and personality, I'm still trying to wrap my mind around robots having sex and making babies....The narration I felt, was almost unneeded, as it felt a little unfinished comparatively to the rest of the novel, I also thought it was a distraction. But this is knit picking.
