The Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan

4.0

Second in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians urban fantasy series for middle-grade readers.

My Take
This is such a funny, familial look at the Greek gods through the eyes of a contemporary half-human/half-god child of Poseidon. For some reason, the major gods have a "down" on Percy and most of the other kids join the gods in giving him grief.

In this adventure, Percy, Annabel, and Tyson escape Camp Half Blood on their own forbidden quest to save Grover from marriage to a Cyclops.

Naturally, the adventures include encounters with sea creatures, the enemy side, sorceresses, and centaurs.
