Goodbye Stranger by Rebecca Stead

4.0

I really did enjoy this book. I spent much of the time guessing who the mysterious girl might be. I was surprised at who it was, as we meet the character and she did not show any signs of distress. It really goes to show that sometimes you really don't know someone unless you cans see inside their head. The narration was quite interesting as I do not usually read fictional books in second-person narration. It really made the flashbacks have a deeper impact when written in that format. The events in the story do reflect things that happen in real life; and I believe the author represents them in the story quite well. While most of the book was really enjoyable and understandable for me, was quite shocked by the ending; the way the author ended it was very confusing for me, so I felt like the epilogue was unnecessary. Overall, I believe this story is a good read, and I would recommend it to others.
