This was my introduction to Lisa See, and I am definitely reading more of her novels in the future! I adore historical fiction that's thoroughly researched and strives to be as accurate as possible like this was. The story absorbs you from the beginning and then keeps you invested the entire way. I was able to finish this in one weekend and felt so emotionally attached that I stayed up late to read it. Every aspect fits together perfectly and ties into the theme, leaving the reader satisfied.
