3,5/5.

This book felt like a chaotic rollercoaster, very appropriate for the time period depicted.

I found the main character genuinely engaging, flawed and irritating at times but with a strengh of mind and a desire to move forward despite the profound turmoil she lives through.

The queer aspects were touching and also embedded in this historical time very convicingly.

Certain historical aspects were shifted around the dramatic narrative, but not in a way that distorts either the context or the messages of the author.

I look forward to a futur book from Zoe Sivak !
