At First Spite by Olivia Dade

2.0

This is my 4th Olivia Dade and by far my least favourite.

Major good point: I still really liked how she handled the fat representation, it's not the main topic of the book so it's only mentioned a few times when relevant (like when it has an impact on something that other characters don't realise).

Unfortunately I found the two MC annoying each in their own way, they are both in their late 30s but she acts like she's 20 and he acts like he's 60. This man doesn't know a single popular meme and you know that because she is throwing SO MANY at him/you. Also they refer to google as Professor Google at least two dozen times and I cringed so bad.

And I feel like Dade wanted to tackle too many themes in one book, some pretty heavy, while remaining quite funny and the tonal shift can be a bit rough at times.
