Not the kind of thing I'd usually pick up. Felt a bit slow and sterile at times, and the characterisation was a bit weak and lacking passion, but all the same the history itself is so gripping. A really accessible and enjoyable way to learn about this period of history - while I know liberties were taken, it gave me a really good feeling for the big players, all the events and how bloodthirsty and unstable power was all throughout this era. It's no wonder the war of the roses has transfixed us all for centuries. I'll definitely consider reading more.
