A decently strong independently published debut. It is well-written, and the world is interesting, though I wish further world building & history was explored. The protagonists are likeable, though flat and their actions predictable. It sets up well for a series.
I would say this reads like a Young Adult novel, except that there is heavy domestic violence (both emotional and sexual abuse).
