I like schlocky, and I like extreme.. but for me the two didn’t work here. Something just felt off and lazy, or rushed. I would’ve preferred more of a flow but instead this was kind of all over the place and the writing felt inconsistent. I almost put this down more than once because I felt like the story wasn’t going anywhere for the majority of it.
I love the book cover. I did like the debauched cult idea, the slasher feel, and loved the Halloween aspect with Channel 39 and Shock Theater. But the story definitely could’ve been constructed better, in my opinion!
