A childhood favorite that still holds up. The writing style is accessible for both a young and older audience, the plot is intriguing, and the characters enduring and interesting. It's been almost 10 years since I last read this and I can still remember some of the major plot points and characters, even before rereading, which I think shows this books strength and memorability. I own the next two books so I'll definitely be reading them soon!
