I started this book disappointed in the author if I’m being honest. I love Sarah j. Maas books. And o expected the same adventurous, mature characters but was met with Bryce who rubbed me the wrong way. She seemed like a badly-developed female character out of a steamy book. It took me 300 pages to get into it. I hate saying that because once I passed that point, I finally couldn’t put it down. After that, the book became what I wanted. I adjusted to Bryce and realized there was more to her than I thought and there was mystery and tension (not too much steaminess thankfully, that can takeaway from a good book) but still enough to make you root for the romance. There was adventure and complicated characters that you wanted to scream at. I loved everything I learned and found out. So I say 3.75 only because it took so long to get into it but well worth the read and I bought the rest of the series.
