I wanted to like this, I really did.

This book is written as though it is a script for a TV documentary with transcripts of emails, texts and voicemails embedded throughout. The "cast" are a mix of police officers, journalists, psychologists, KCs, and director Guy Howard has a special connection. Luke Ryder, the man whose murder they are trying to solve after twenty years was his stepfather. I loved the premise of the novel and I loved the use of mixed media.

I was really intrigued at the start, I liked how each character was introduced to us and I was surprised by the first twist. The more I read however as the team tried to delve deeper into Luke Ryder and who he was, I felt it was a bit disjointed, too unbelievable and had too many twists. I get that we are urged to suspect that everyone had a hidden secret but it was just too much for me and I lost the enjoyment.
