This book. . . This book! Was everything I didn't know I needed. I believe I found a new favorite author and I kick myself for almost passing this book up.

Jonah - "We're sexy cows."

We jump right into a comical scene of Dane and Jonah doing a gig for cash. Involving inflatable cow suites. Dane is saving up to move back to Vancouver to pursue their photography business. Jonah is saving as well but for a personal surgery.

The two are best friends and do side jobs for cash. Dane is doing the side gigs in between photographing models. All they want is to pursue a career in photography much to their family's disapproval.

Except for one family member who supports them being non binary. Also wishing to see Dane pursue their dreams. Dane's aunt, ma tante. Tante Noelle who has happily provided Dane with a home. But there's a catch. A tyrannical roommate named Evangeline Hudson.

Evangeline has everything planned out right down to bathroom breaks. Not really, but she's extremely organized! Having several lists and organizational sheets. Her plan is to graduate and go to veterinary school. Living under Tante Noelle's roof because rent is cheap and the house is like one from a fairy tail.

Dane was not part of the plan. Having constant squabbles with them. Since Dane doesn't fully listen or follow the chore charts. Both of them keeping proper distance. Despite Tante Noelle trying to get them together.

Noelle's purpose, being a matchmaker. Only Evangeline and Dane are refusing to believe such a thing. Soulmates? Them? But after Noelle announces possibly handing the house over to one of Dane's "lovely" cousins. . . The two need to come up with a plan. Otherwise they will be asked to leave.

Neither of them care for each other. Being complete opposites and having to overcome their pasts. But the two agree on not wanting to leave the walk-up in Montreal. Putting aside differences.

This is a romantic comedy. Full of laughs, cheesy romantic moments, and some tears. Dane is non binary but they are still trying to fully understand that and what it means to them. Evangeline is a lesbian but she's rather open and understands that her orientation may change.

This book hit me very close to home. I just wanted to hug Dane honestly. I can very much relate to them and I am so glad I was able to read this book! I was crying because it was an emotional read for me. Relating to Dane and just their character.

I also very much loved that Evangeline is a big time reader! Reading or listening to books and reviewing them. To the point of Dane saying:

"Oooh, Evangeline! Spaghetti and fairy porn sounds like a great Saturday night."

I mean? Carbs and smutty books? Yes please!

This was a long review but I loved this read so much. I could honestly keep going on about this read. But I don't want to spoil anything or ruin the first time of reading the book through.

Looking forward to more books from Katia. Enjoy the read and give the author some stars!
