I debated between a 3.5 and 4 star rating for this one but decided on a 4 star because I loved Nina’s character so much. Nina stole the show for me. She was independent, self assured, great at communicating her needs, wants and fears and was also just a real laugh. Roman was also surprisingly sweet with just the right amount of scary. I have almost never laughed while reading a mafia romance and yet this one had me laughing on the regular.

The only things that I feel let it down were the fact that there was a lack of friendships - for Nina at least. I refuse to believe someone that funny wouldn’t have friends wondering where she was or wanting to spend time with her. I also thought that the romance was a little lacklustre at times and that the spice was almost an afterthought. It felt like not as much thought had gone into writing the spicy scenes and they were very short and to the point.

Overall, it was an entertaining, quick read and I would be very interested in reading the next few books.
