I loved the concept of this book and it’s such a stunning proof.
Despite living relatively near to Mersea Island, I’d never heard of ‘Ray’, I throughly enjoyed reading this but did struggle with the 1800’s , so I will definitely be re-reading this soon. To me it’s always a sign of how good a writer is, when you still enjoy a book that you don’t necessarily ‘get’..
This in interesting and enjoyable read with a set of fantastic characters (Florence was my favourite) add it to your TBR
