Really compelling and felt like a very safe read - not that it held back, more that I didn't feel like I was going to have a shock twist or something terrible dropped on me at any moment. Which is fine by me! I like that the slow pace left room for exploring characters in a lot of detail, which really helped drive the story but also made room for many potential twists and turns that the book could choose to follow (or not). I really liked the unexpected sense of community that arose as well! The audiobook was also great to listen to while cooking 😂
