The Kings are back! And it looks like we missed a lot of drama while they were gone.
This was a good read and it definitely held my interest. But I just couldn’t connect with the characters. Nye reminded me way too much of Jade, and Launz was too passive. And while I really liked Zo, and the way the Pierce family embraced him so wholeheartedly, it was all just too neat and clean. LB does high drama, messy, and over the top like no other, but I didn’t get that from this book. I read the Muted Hopelessness Series right before reading this one and it gave everything it needed to give. EVERYTHING!!! LB excels at sagas; I think this story needed to be told over more than 1 book.
